Well, it's D-day - flight leaves tonight at 9:40pm. So, I go online to get my boarding pass. I was having trouble with the Air France website, so while I was waiting on hold, I was perusing the site. There was a link for "Traveling Internatinally?" When I clicked on it, it said
"Better make sure your passport is good for at least six months. Many countries now require your passport to be valid for six months beyond your travel date"
WTF?!?!
This was the first I'd heard of this, and my passport expires Jan 16, 2011 - only 4 months!!! It never dawned on me it might not be "good" until it actually expired!
So, after having a slight heart attack, I searched around the US Passport website to see if Germany was one of the countries that required such a thing. I ended up having to call for help, but finally found the right info - Germany requires your passport to be valid for 3 months beyond the duration of your trip. So, for a 2 week trip, it needs to be valid for 4 more months!
Am I cutting it close, or what?? Ein bier, bitte......!!
